"The Dark Knight Rises" With $1 Billion Box Office
Despite millions of fans still reluctant to go to a movie theatre following the tragic events of the Colorado shooting, according to Box Office Mojo, director Christopher Nolan’s "The Dark Knight Rises" has now passed the $431.1 million mark domestically (North America), for a worldwide total of $1.005 billion.
Released July 20, 2012, Warner Bros. $250 million budgeted PG-13 action thriller, as of Sep. 2, 2012, has earned an estimated Domestic haul of $431,196,000 and Foreign of $574,000,000, for a Worldwide total of $1,005,196,000.
"...Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ 'The Dark Knight Rises' is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s 'Batman' trilogy. Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar winner Christian Bale. again plays the dual role of 'Bruce Wayne'/'Batman'. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as 'Selina Kyle', Tom Hardy as 'Bane', Marion Cotillard as 'Miranda Tate' and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as 'John Blake'.

The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on Nolan's "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight".
