Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day said Barbie fits in with the swimsuit issues' "message of empowerment" for women.
A new "Air New Zealand" safety video, "Safety In Paradise" also features models Ariel Meredith, Hannah Davis, Jessica Gomes and Chrissy Teigen, celebrating the 50th issue.
The video was shot in New Zealand’s Cook Islands.
Air New Zealand said the airline was "...careful to ensure ‘Safety in Paradise’ has been produced in a way that is tasteful..."
