Why Don't We Do It "On The Road"

Sneak Peek new character posters from director Walter Salles' upcoming dramatic feature "On The Road".

The film adaptation of author Jack Kerouac's novel "On The Road", stars Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Alice Braga, Elisabeth Moss, Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Amy Adams.

"On The Road" was produced by Francis Ford Coppola on a $25 million budget.

Based on the years Kerouac spent traveling America in the 1940's with his friend 'Neal Cassady', other characters in the film include writers William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg.

"On the Road", written by Kerouac in 1951, published in 1957, is largely an autobiographical work of the postwar 'Beat Generation', inspired by jazz, poetry, sex and drugs.

Director Salles' run-and-gun 'guerilla shoot' started August 2010, in Montreal, Quebec, then Gatineau, Quebec. Gatineau stood in for Denver, Colorado, circa 1947.

Production then moved to Calgary, Alberta, with additional scenes lensed in Argentina, Mexico, New Orleans, Arizona and San Francisco.
