"Birds Of Prey" - New Stunt Footage

Take a look at explosive stunt footage, plus new images of 'Harley Quinn' (Margot Robbie) on the run with 'Cassandra Cain' (Ella Jay Basco) from an exterior night shoot on the set of director Cathy Yan's "Birds Of Prey", based on DC Comics 'all-girl' crime-fighter team, targeting a February 7, 2020 Warner Bros. Pictures release:

The new movie is intended to be the eighth film in the 'DC Extended Universe' and a spin-off from "Suicide Squad" (2016).

Cast also includes Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez and Ewan McGregor.

"...since the events of 'Suicide Squad', 'Batman' has disappeared, leaving 'Gotham City' unprotected from crime, with 'Harley Quinn' breaking free of the slimy 'Joker'.

"Then when young 'Cassandra Cain', finds a diamond belonging to the criminal 'Black Mask', Harley recruits 'Black Canary', 'Huntress' and 'Renee Montoya' to help protect her..."

"I pitched the idea of an 'R-rated' girl gang film including 'Harley'," said Robbie, "because I was like, 'Harley needs friends' Harley loves interacting with people...

"...so don't ever make her do a standalone film."

"She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn't seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space...

"And then of course having a female director to tell that story. And giving a female director the chance to do big budget stuff.

"I love action films. I’m a girl. What, are we meant to only like a specific thing’?” So it was hugely important to find a female director for this, if possible.

"But at the end of the day — male, female — the best director gets the job and Cathy was the best director."

Robbie's LuckyChap produces with Sue Kroll, Kroll & Co Entertainment and Bryan Unkeless of Clubhouse Pictures.
