Dark Horse Comics' "Buffy Season 10" Library Edition Volume 1 Hard Cover, available July 4, 2018, is the canonical continuation of creator Joss Whedon's television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", published by Dark Horse Comics March 2014 to August 2016, written by Christos Gage, Nicholas Brendon and illustrated by Rebekah Isaacs, Richard Corben, Dan Jackson and Scott Fischer:
"...Joss Whedon's 'Buffy and the Scoobies' are shocked to discover another new kind of vampire: harder to kill, able to transform, and walk in the light of day--like 'Dracula'.
"If that weren't enough, the rules of magic are literally being rewritten in the 'Vampyr' book, making it a highly coveted item.
"As the crew feels the responsibility of protecting the book and writing the new rules, they are tempted by what new rules can do for them...
"...just like the 'Big Bads' who have come knocking on Buffy's door.
"Another consequence is that Buffy's sister 'Dawn', though alive again thanks to the recreation of magic, has had a traumatic time adjusting to life. She feels as if her mother's death was recent, while feelings for her boyfriend 'Xander' have reset as well.
"'Xander' is secretly haunted by apparitions of his dead ex-fiance 'Anya'; he does not know if she is real or a hallucination. However, all is not bleak, as Buffy's old mentor 'Giles' is delivered to her by 'Faith', alive and mentally intact.
"The group soon learn the now-blank 'Vampyr' book given to Buffy in 1997 can be used to write new rules for magic, as the Scoobie gang form an alliance with the demon 'D'Hoffryn' to keep the book safe.
"They consider the needs of mystical groups looking to make peace with humanity, including a mutually non-lethal agreement with the majority of the world's 'vampires', led by 'Harmony Kendall'..."
